Recently, we had the distinct honor of attending & capturing a truly special morning in the heart of Salem - one that combined history, community, and new beginnings. The Salem Chamber of Commerce hosted their monthly Coffee Connectionsnetworking hour at none other than the historic Pickering House, marking the first-ever chamber coffee event held at this iconic local landmark.
A Warm Welcome to New Chamber Leadership
We’d like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to Jeff Swartz on stepping into his new role as Director of the Salem Chamber of Commerce. This moment felt especially full-circle, as Jeff actually spent part of his early career working at the Pickering House—making his return to the space in this new capacity both meaningful and nostalgic.
A warm welcome is also due to Amanda Larson, who joins the Chamber as Assistant Director. Her energy and enthusiasm are a perfect match for Salem’s vibrant and ever-evolving business community.
About the Pickering House
If you’re unfamiliar with it, the Pickering House is one of Salem’s oldest homes, built in 1660 and maintained by the Pickering Foundation. This hidden gem is steeped in local history and has been in the Pickering family for over three centuries. It now serves as a cultural site, offering memberships, private rentals, and event hosting throughout the year - perfect for everything from intimate gatherings to educational programs.
